Aluminum 4032 alloys are typically used for parts of equipment or automobiles that require a high wear resistance, low coefficient of thermal expansion, have good weldability, good corrosion resistance and has the ability to replace 12L14 steel based on wear resistance. This can reduce product flow time (elimination of anodizing) as well as eliminate the environmental issues associated with anodizing. 4032 is often used in the auto industry for master brake cylinders, transmission valves, forged pistons, bushings for rack and pinion steering systems as well as other applications such as copier parts, sound recording devices, bearings and hydraulic applications.
